We’re on a mission to improve decay rates amongst young children in the Fylde Coast by delivering key Oral Health messages to children in the local community. Our Oral Health Educators are working closely with the local schools, giving the very best information in tooth decay, how to keep our teeth and gums healthy, and discussions around healthy diets for healthy teeth. Tooth-brushing demonstrations and fun interactive games are part of the engaging programme we are delivering to age 4-5 and 8-9 year olds in the locality.
In addition to this, we are now pleased to announce we have been made an Enhanced Paediatric Practice as part of an NHS pilot to reduce hospital waiting times for children due to undergo extractions. By using the very latest in preventive techniques, we are able to prolong the life of decayed teeth, and give them the best chance of survival before the tooth fairy collects them. This is a referral only system.
These initiatives are part of the wider agenda to improve the Health and Well-being of our population.
